I don't recall his exact words and as a physicist I don't know if any weight should be given to his theological views, but he stated something along the lines that the future religion of mankind would reflect the teachings and philosophy of Buddhism. I took it to mean he accepted the demise of theology in favour of beliefs that emphasise the concept of the cosmic consciousness that connects all living things.

Einstein was a pacifist, Jewish physicist. And Jesus rose from the dead with his body and spirit so I guess that makes him alive.

To the previous poster... Jesus is dead, too.

Einstein was, at most, a deist. His god was more of a recognition of the complexity of the universe and an awe for its wonders. He did not believe in a personal god. So, that would really make him more of an atheist than any other religion.
