When I was 17, I met a girl in High School that was 16, and we dated for 6 months. Then summer came. I ended up not taking the relationship as serious as I should have, and kissed another girl that summer. She found out, and our relationship ended.
12 years later....
Ran into my high school sweetheart online, in email the other day. We had a few good emails exchanging what we been up to these past 12 years. Then I asked her if she was ever engaged, and then I get no response back. Did I open up a wound from the past?

At this point I just want to have a friendship with this girl that I never had. I don't want to get back with her, or date/marry her. I feel I was very immature at age 17, and now I wanted to get to know her.

Is an apology needed her? I'm ready to apoloogize, though doing it in email doesnt seem right. We live in different states.

( I am a christian now )

Not necessarily an apology, but you might want to mention how stupid you were back then, being 17 and all lol.

The fact that you have guilt over the past relationship indicates that an apology is due. Part of doing the right thing is to accept responsibility for your actions and try to make amends. If you think you may have hurt this girl, do apologize. The young heart is so tender at 16 and easily bruised. Even an email apology is better than none.

Send the apology. Then you have done right. If you get no response, then don't worry about it.

I dated my best gorl friend after not seeing her for 20 years. she had turned away from the morals that she used to have. And she was a raging alcoholic at times. I ended the relationship. Disappointed that I couldn't get her to SEE the folly of her ways.
The bottle had replaced real feeling and emotion in all aspects of her life. I am not a saint and I drank at times, but this was extreme.

Move on and HOPE the best for her.
God bless

I don't know why you would have to apologize for something at 17...who doesn't have a ton of things we do stupid when we are so very young and inexperienced...I don't understand why she cut off any response over your question...she must have issues that probably do not have anything to do with you personally...I would just let her know you didn't mean to offend her and leave it open for her to contact you if she would like...otherwise if someone doesn't want to communicate...how can there be a relationship anyway...

Yep, and ask her if she can forgive you..

Doing soul retrieval myself right now(because how can I love God with whole my soul when there are schisms (missing parts?? ) Disconnecting/cording from a summercamp love that I really had never thought about much since got out some violent energy some time ago as well..Strange because he did not take it serious at all and he said he was engaged after,,, (I did feel bad about that, he may have felt worse or i dunno what it was..) I was not in love with him really either (or got over it much easier if I was than in other cases)

Thoughts matter and souls shatter..

Forgiveness is key..

Love

You Bas tard! How dare you ask if I'm engaged. No, I'm not. Since you cheated on me I've just gone from one man to the next. No one has ever replaced you. But I've learned a few tricks since we were together and you're going to have to work very hard to get me back if you want me. You know where to find me if you want me back.

Say sorry if you offended her or anything. Then tell her that you want to get to know her again as a friend.
