The answers below are correct, however, if you want to remove these items in a way that they can never be recovered, you need a clean and shred program. I use McAfee QuickClean with McAfee Shredder. Easy to use and not expensive.

On internet explorer page go to TOOLS, INTERNET OPTION, DELETE COOKIES. A pop up will want ot confirm it, hit OKAY. Then Click on the DELETE FILES button and check the box DELETE OFFLINE FILES, this will delete all temp files from internet explorer. You can then go to the CLEAR HISTORY button and change how many days to keep it from 20 down to 1 day if you like. This way it will clear the history on your intervals. Hope this helps.

you can have it done automatically by clicking onto start, settings, control panel, click internet options, then click advance,, scroll down 2 almost the bottom of list and check mark the box that says empty temp files and folders when browser is closed,, click ok when done : ) ops i missed read.. but took you 2 the steps of deleting files and cookies.. history can be put on auto by clicking contents tab at top, then click autocomplete, check box the web addresses and uses names and passwords then click clear forms,, click ok.. and that will keep history in search bar clear forever : )

Yes. ccleaner is best but you might also like IE Privacy Keeper- also free and will clean on browser shutdown

go to internet explorer options there are options for Delete offline files and cookies, u can do it by default in any MS internet explorer
