I have 5 tattoos and my husband has a covered back and 5 others. I let the scabs fall off and he scrubs his off. Mine are faded and his aren't. It depends also on how you take care of it. You shouldn't be able to pick off the color. Your tattoo will naturally fade but the artist will be able to touch it up after 2 weeks of healing. Go back and say hey, this faded a bit could you please touch it up. Tattoos bleed, they scab, and they look cool after the initial couple of weeks of healing.

I've accidentally knocked a bit of scab off too, and it was ok, but I could see where it was a tad bit lighter. Your tattoo artist if they're a credible one, will touch it up for free, when its fully healed I would recommend it if you're really worried about it!

I actually TRIED to take color out of one of mine. The guy did a lousey job and he kept hitting a nerve and making my leg jump and anyway i wanted it OFF. I picked the scabs. I went into the pool with lots of chlorine. I layed in the sun. I used skin lightener. You name it and i tried it. I finally managed to lighten a bit of it but not much of it. So you are probably ok. If it does then when it is healed real well , like maybe 6 weeks to let the skin rest, then you can get a touch up. On all of mine i have at least knocked off a little scab or it rubbed off in the bed without hurting any of them. Keep it covered in A&D ointment to keep the scabs soft and it shouldnt be a problem if any come off in bed.

It will prolly be okay. It's part of the healing process. Don't be surprised if a bit of color comes up in the scabs. It will look awful by the second week. then things will get back to normal. It will start to feel like skin again. Keep it clean and moist as often as you can. If can really see a difference in color, go back for a touch up.

sometimes it will be ok but try not to knock a lot off because when the scabs get knocked off it can take the color with it and when your tattoo gets fully healed it can be discolored in the area the scab was picked off at. I wouldn't worry to much about it though because it was a small place.

Yeah you might have lost some coloring and you would need to get it touched up again! Just don't pick them off again! Me on the other hand I never scabbed up like that only when i didn't put enough ointment on. So keep some A&D ointment on you at all times. Keep putting it on as soon as it gets dry!

It's possible that you may loose a little color and you might need a touch up down the road. It has happened to me many times, but I haven't lost color each time. It all depends on how far down the actual scab went. Don't worry too much about it.
Oh and don't listen to that Captain guy, he apparently has issues.

If you keep it properly bandaged and covered with ointment, it shouldn't scab at all. Get it touched up in a few weeks if it looks diferent, color-wise, but you may have scarring as a result of the scabs. And if it itches, slap it, don't scratch it.

I did this also and mine was a bit lighter there but you really have to look hard at it to see it... i would just try to be a bit more careful next time. I saran wrap mine b4 i go to bed when they are new like that and it helps allot when you use extra tattoo goo. It keeps them really moist overnight. Good luck to ya.
