No it isn't.
Each person is responsible for themselves.
That is just like saying guns kill people.
Guns themselves do not "do" anything.
It takes a person to use it.
Same as religion. It should be used peacefully but people use it to gain power, have wars and genocide.
Sad but true.
Religion itself does not do anything.

this is a difficult question to answer.

In the mid Victorian age the question was:

Has science caused a spiritual vacuum? - Did Darwin cause a religios moral decay. This is explored by poets and authors of this period - see romanticism.

However, religion is being used as a catch all for acts of violence in the world at the moment.

The part of the world most people know least about is the Middle East, most of which is Muslim. It is far easier to say that it is a 'Muslim' problem than to say that our attitude to the problems of the area has caused difficulties and hatred. It is also worth noting here that the crusades should be viewed in this way too.

Religion is not causing anti humanity. Greed and exploitation are causing major problems at the moment but to put the blame in 'al quaeda' or whomever effectivley creates a situation of Orwellian total war where civilians all over lose freedom in order to keep the order established.

I'm not some nutty 'it was the CIA who caused 9/11' or a beleiver in any faith, but the vast majority of anti-humanist activities are not caused by religion.

People hide behind this as it is very easy to say 'a fanatic sect of' rather than 'people we armed then left for dead'.

In a sense, yes. Religion is about communal spirit, which can in some cases become more important than that of the individual. What's more, it has the unusual tendency of doing exactly the same thing to its opponents.

I do think everyone still feels that people are important. The real test, of course, will come when we start delving deeper into the realm of cybernetics...

No, we do that by our selves. Its called free will.

Just because people say they are donig somethign in the name of their religion, or stating that God is on their side, doesnt mean that He is sitting up there going "Go on, get him!!"

Lets face it, if there is a God, then everyone who worships prays to the same one - they just interpret God differently. THerefore, surely such a God would not want us to smite each other

Religion teaches loves and acceptance, human interpretation reads into it whatever suits our purpose at the time

Our manipulation of religion turns us anti human. I think the manipulation is the biggest cause, in that we try to make excuses for our selves before God by establishing some sort of false pictures for others in hope that we can justify our own actions.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Anti-Human" but I'm anti the human characteristics of hate, greed, pride, violence, lust... stuff like that. But then again I'm pro the human charateristics of love joy, peace, patience, kindess, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

And I'm not "Anti" any individuals- no-ones any better or worse than me.

The first sign a species is becoming sentient is when they have evolved to the point where they can abstract enough to invent a god. The first time a species achieves sentient maturity is when the get rid of their gods. Religion prevents us from becoming fully Human and reaching our full potential as a species.

Religion and the following of God's Laws will make you anti-human.

Genuine faith and love for God will make you a better human.

Jesus Christ taught us how to be more human, and The Holy Spirit came to help us change and become more loving to people.
