i put mine in a container(after it is cool) in the fridge with water when it gets solid it is on the top & all the inpure bits are in the water so the solified oil/fat is clean to use again

Let it cool some first.. Strain it and put it in a plastic container like and old mayonaise jar.. Store it the fridge.. When needed again. Put it the micro wave for just a few seconds to make it liquid again and use.. then repeat,, But remember your oil will pick up the flavor of what ever your cooking this can eaither work for you are against you. You might not want your frechfries to taste like fish..

I mostly use olive oil and I don't deep fry so there's nothing for me to save.

My grandma used to have a dedicated can in the fridge, like a coffee can.

Strain it through cheesecloth (paper towel or a clean dishtowel are good substitues). This removes any brown bits leftover from what you cooked. Let cool to a safe temperature and store in a covered container in the fridge.

Let it cool completely. Strain any big bits out, and pour into a CLEAN, very dry empty jar with a tight-fitting lid. Put the lid on, and keep at room temperature.
