Two answers, 1) They don't love you, you are a convenience to them, not unlike a public toilet. or 2) You have convinced yourself that you are in a relationship when you aren't.
If it's the first, then shame on them. If it's the second, then you need to ask yourself why you kept fooling yourself about this person.

It happens when people don't truly love you. The best way to overcome it is by realising that even if you loved them, they didn't love you the same way. I'm sorry honey! It's just the truth. Have a good cry and you'll feel much better.

It happens because they are afraid of love. You rise above it by continuing to be true and honest to yourself and trusting love to overcome it for you.

because you have these strong feelings for someone does not mean they have them back for you, i'm sorry to say this.
i would suggest to you, to take a good long hard look at the situation...obviously the relationship was not solid as you thought..or he would not have cheated.
time is the only thing to help mend the heart he has broken.

they can't be in love with someone when they go to someone else and cheat. if u truly love someone u wudn't do a thing to hurt them.

maybe because they got a problem,maybe, he was from a realtionship where his feelings were dumped too. or maybe he just can't handle such a relationship or someone's feelings just like yours..
