Where should i get my tat?

Question

I'm going to get a tat of the Dhamma Wheel of Buddhism on my arm--but where should I put it? On the forearm somewhere, on the inside or the outside, on the bicep area or tricep area....where?

Those of you who are answering this question purely to promote your anti-tattooing agenda--your answers have just been flagged & all future answers will be flagged!

i really want to get it on the outer, middle part of my forearm....but i've got some cutting scars on there. Will that affect it? Any one who sees the tats will be looking at it from far away; it's not like they'll be putting their face right at my arm.

In my opinion some designs even if they are feminine do tend to look masculine solely because of their placement on the arm.
On the other hand have you ever seen Kat Von D's tattoos (from Miami Ink)? Hers are beautiful and they suit her.

Ultimatley the decision is yours. The placement doesn't matter as long as you will be happy with it. Will you regret having it in a place you will be able to see every day or is that what you want?
Think about later on down the road, as some one said. Do you attend a lot of formal occasions where the tattoo may look a little out of place with a fancy dress or doesn't it matter to you?
There could be job opportunities and unfortunetly visible tattoos are a no-no. Will you be able to cover it up day after day with a uniform or regular clothes?

I have thought myself of getting a tattoo on my forearm but the job I currently have will not allow it and the uniform I need to wear will not cover it up.

To answer your question about scars. Most people say when they have tattoos redone or go over any kind of scar that it hurts more than the initial tattooing. Then again many people who have extensive scars have tattoos to help cover them up. There was a man in my town who had over 90% of his body scarred from a fire. He now has his whole body (face and head) tattooed.

Do a tattoo search and look at other arm tattoos and see what you think. Think about situations in life where a visible tattoo such as this might not be appropriate.

It all depends on the size of tat you want and the shape of your arms. When you go to the artist he will give his opinion on where it will look good, and he will also put a stencil on first so you can see if you like it. Try a few different spots with the stencil and choose the one you like best.

I really do think think you should put it on your arm. Personally i think tats on arms look masculine, so only guys should put them there!!! Just my opinion though!!! Middle of your upper back would look good and you could still have it covered if you needed it to be, like for a job or something!!!

i think you should put it on your biceps. tattoo on forearm is really hard to cover, it'll cause problem when you want to attend a formal occasion or planning to wear a dress

anyhoo, id say the inner of top part of your arm, its a knarly
spot to get one, but it looks good.

It depends on how large it will be, whether or not you want it showing, etc......... Think long and hard about this decision, it will be there for a long time.
