Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

1. Start with good beef such as Rib Eye.
2. Shave the beef very thin so it cooks quickly and remains tender.
3. Use a fresh high quality Italian roll - Amoroso’s is a favorite.
4. Decide if you want your steak with or without fried onions.
5. Decide if you want a steak or a cheesesteak. If you elect a cheesesteak you need to decide on American cheese, provolone or the Philly favorite "cheez whiz".
6. Any add-ons? Mushrooms, peppers, pizza sauce, tomatoes? You decide. It’s your sandwich.
7. Start to cook. Sauté the onions, peppers and mushrooms until soft.
8. Fry your steak until brown but not crispy or burned. You can mix in the fried vegetables now or add them at the end.
9. If you elect American cheese or provolone place the cheese on the meat until slightly melted. If you choose Cheez Whiz just smear it on the roll.
10. Place the roll over the meat/cheese/vegetables and scoop it into the sandwich.
11. Garnish your sandwich with pizza sauce, hot or sweet peppers or pickles as you choose.
12. Enjoy your Philadelphia cheesesteak.

From a Deli in Napa, California: Salami Sandwich

You will need 1/4 or 1/2 pound of Gallo salami-thinely sliced, three slices of cheddar or provolone cheese, finely chopped lettuce, red onion, sliced tomatoes, a few pickles, and regular mustard. All on a sour dough roll.

This sandwich my cause lockjaw, but its the best I ever had.

Think about the flavours you like, and work along those lines. The idea of the perfect sandwich is a rather subjective one. The real secret of a good sandwich is how you put it together. Here's an idea for you to try:
Corned beef and tomato sandwich

Cut a piece off a fresh baguette (with sesame seeds), slice it in half lengthways, and butter it, making sure not to miss any of the bread, going right up to the crust. Spread a thin layer of dijon mustard onto the bottom piece of bread, and put a layer of good corned beef on top of this. Wash a good ripe vine tomato, and using a sharp knife, slice it thinly. Put a layer of tomato on top of the corned beef, making sure it's evenly dispersed, and overall, flat (lumpy bits are a bad idea). Now put the top piece of baguette on top, and enjoy!

Pakistani Recipes
To boneless chicken breast add some soya sauce and cook until all moisture dries and chicken cooked. Let cool. Shred the chicken and add mayo and some butter. Add black pepper generously. Mash with a fork and apply thinly and make a sandwich. First you can cut the crust off from bread and make it into appetizers as half sandwiches. Make sure you apply mayo or dressing to bread also.
To ground sirloin, add chopped vegetables such as green onions, white onions, green chiles, cilantro and chopped tomatoes.
Add spices such as red pepper, salt, ground cumin and ground dry pomegranate seeds (if you can find it, these are very tasty). Either grill or fry these in one teaspoon of oil and let it cook several minutes on one side until deep brown and then cook on other side. These are so tasty to die for. Make a sandwich on a whole wheat bun like a burger. The patties are called Chappali Kebabs. Chappal means sandals since these are shaped like a sandal long oblong.
Omellete sandwich
To beaten eggs add chopped green or reg onions, also add chopped green chiles, tomatoes and cilantro. add red pepper, black pepper and salt. fry like an omellette and make a sandwich.
Variation, add chopped sausage also if you like.

Bit difficult to answer seeing as I don't know your taste preferences. What fillings do you like?

Do you eat meat for example?
The good old breakfast sarnie never fails to hit the spot - fried mushrooms, bacon, and egg, (fried tomato optional).
Or fried steak with mushrooms and a dollop of brown sauce.
These sandwiches are good for a hangover...

What about a chicken salad sandwich? Chicken breast with all the salad - cucumber, tomato, lettuce, spring onion - with a sprinkle of salt and pepper, a smattering of mustard, and a few slices of beetroot on the side (that you could add to the sandwich if required).

If you are a vegetarian, then you can't do any better than the ploughman's sandwich - same as the chicken salad but exchange the chicken breast for a good slab of mature cheddar and instead of mustard use pickle.
You could keep the beetroot but a good alternative is to use pickled onions instead (not sure how beetroot would fare with pickle...)

If all else fails, then resort to the tried and tested crisp sandwich: butter two slices of bread, select favourite crisps, open packet, spread crisps on bread, place other slice to complete sandwich, and enjoy! (A thin spread of tomato sauce can be used also, but it is an acquired taste and depends on what crisp flavour you use - prawn cocktail is a no-no for example, but cheese and onion seems to work).

Thanks, because of your question, I now have to go and make myself some food, my mouth is watering so much...

Mozarella and Tomato. Instead of butter, use pesto to spread on the bread.

For the ultimate toasted sandwich (if you have a sweet tooth), cut up a snickers bar and add a handfull of dried fruit and put it in a sandwich toaster. So naughty, but so nice.

Some of my favourites are:

- Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato with Mayo
- Bacon, Spring Onions, Tomato and Mayo
- Chicken, Bacon and Avocado
- Cheese, Lettuce & Tomato
- Chicken & Mayo Toasted Sandwiches
- Pizza Toasted Sandwiches
(Basically, put ketchup on the bread, fill with normal pizza fillings like onion, capsicum, cheese, ham, bacon etc and toast)

Do not know if you will like this but give it a try !
White , good quality bread, nice crust.
Banana , just peeled , not bruised.
Chocolate Spread, nutella or other quality spread.
Make sandwich with ingredients above, cut into fingers( like soldiers for yer egg ) and relax and enjoy !!!!
I worked at a posh golf club a few years ago, and believe it or not ,even the snootiest folk asked for this after tasting it once !!

Mmm, true you can't go wrong with cheese and pickle. However, for a more adventurous taste try this:

- Fresh warm baguette
- Grated Mature Cheese
- thinly sliced onions
- Honey Roast Ham
- some cucumber slices
- some tomato slices
- a sprinkling of ground black pepper
- lettuce
- salad cream
- *special ingredient* Linghams Ginger Garlic and Chilli Sauce (any other just won't do)

I used to get this made for me at a sandwich shop.

Good white bread (no one said perfect had to be healthy), Butter, Avocado, Mango chutney, slices of emental cheese, (though Jarlsberg works just as well if not better).

I have since refined this.

Also add black olives, and some sundried/sunblushed tomatoes.

Makes my mouth water just thinking of it. In fact. Excuse me I'm off to the kitchen to get one right now.

It'll go well with my tea. :)
