as the title says I'm just wondering if eating before sleeping really makes you gain weight or is it just a myth

It depends on WHAT you eat: carbohydrates ( potatoes, bread, pasta..) and fats ( cheeses, olive oil etc..) will turn into fat because your body is not burning the calories while you sleep. This is why it is advised to eat the breakfast of a king, the lunch of a queen and the dinner of a poor.. so to speak. If you intend to have a large dinner best to have it early into the evening and maybe have a short crisp walk before bed.
On the other hand you can have every night a large salad with vegetables seasoned with very little oil and not gain any weight.

It depends on what you eat. Cereal or carbs before sleep helps with your sleep. A stick of butter will make you gain weight. Too much will cause weight and other problems.

Eating before you go to sleep isn't a healthy thing to do because when the body is laying down, the digestion of food is harder on the body. It takes longer too.

It's a myth inspired by some truth. Eating at night is alright. People who eat at night tend to eat more overall.

Yes because you do not burn it off. Food is fuel for energy. If you eat and then just sleep it doesn't get used and after so many hours it gets stored as fat.

totally, because the calories you just ate aren't going to be burned off. they'll just turn into fat. probably not the best idea, unless your trying to gain weight. and if you are there are better ways to do it..

it does because you are not buring it off. when you have your evening meal you do move around afterwards but when you eat and go to sleep you are not giving your body chance to get rid of any of it.
