Best way is to ask the owner of the ring to relax and then push a little, you should fin your finger slips out easily then... you may have to wash your finger after ward.
Good luck

ok i have the slickest trick for this. push the ring on all the way, take fishing line start before the knuckle and wrap the fingerup to the ring. slid the ring over the line. then take the end that is through the ring and begin unwrapping it. as u unwrap the line the ring will walk rt off the finger.
no kidding this is the coolest thing. no pain and no mess. if u have any questiuons e-mail me

Put some some water or cream to make your finger soft and ring gets off with least pain.

You have to try this because I got a ring stuck on my finger on a recent visit to Vegas. The jeweller sprayed window cleaner onto my finger and it just slipped off. He said it was the best kept secret around and he wasn't wrong. It was amazing - I had tried so hard to get it off and my finger had swollen up. Try it!

try running finger under cold water first to help any swelling, then put on either some washing up liquid or butter and it should slide off ok, otherwise im afraid u'll have to get it cut off (wont damage the finger but will damage the ring!)
Good luck!

Wash you hand in cold (icey if possible to reduce swelling) water and plenty of soap. Sometime vaseline helps as well. If not then you will have to cut the ring off. (not the finger!!!!!!)

If you are really stuck, go to your local fire station. They will probably have a ring cutter. They are usually bored to tears and will be glad to help.

Most casualty depts also have this handy tool. It does a neat cut that any jeweller can make good.

That's if you get really stuck, like!
