Not until your 3 days is up. What type of injury or illness do you have this is very similar to morphine that is a very strong drug. Yes throw it away you can no longer use it make sure you put it somewhere where children can not get to it they could put in their mouth and go into respiratory distress.Do you have something a little weaker for break through pain? If so use it and apply a new patch as directed by your doctor which is about every 48-72hours.

I would ask your Doc to prescribe you something different that is a very powerful drug, its like 10 times stronger than morphine you will become addicted very fast.I have experienced this first hand I have seen my friends 3 to be exact, die, from taking this drug. One started out like you 50 mg.within a month it was 2 ,then 3 patches. He began scraping the medicine off the patch and eating and injecting it intrevenously. My friend was found dead in his garage with 6 patches on him.So be smart other medications are available without the dangers of addiction.

These patches are usually used for people that are in a medical "pain clinic" instead of pills that can upset the stomach, patches are used.
These patches can be having your side affects, I have two boxes of them, I can't use them they make me break out with eczema. It drives me crazy. The doctor put me back on the pill, unfortunately I can't use the patch.

WHOA!!!!!!No way don't throw that other one away. Didn't they explain to you the way to use and care for them? Yes, I did say care, those patches last for 72 Hrs. you have to be careful how you handle them as well. If you've not destroyed the first one too bad you can still use it. Fentnyl will act differently on different people.Usually, those side affects disappear right away, it's a good pain reliever. Put the patch somewhere it's easy for you to reach, you'll need to try to protect it when you shower... GOOD LUCK.....LATER
