Wicca and other forms of Paganism view men and women as equals (some paths of Paganism are strictly women only - though they are usually the Feminists and/or a group of Lesbians). But most of Modern Paganism views both sexes as equal.

Damn shame though, many modern Pagans will tell you that it has always been so. And that's one of the biggest misconceptions Pagans have of their own religion. Ancient Paganism did not view men and women as equals... except in a few rare cases such as the Celts, where their women were equal. But Egypt, Rome/Greece, most of Europe outside of the Celtic tribes... were mainly run by men with women being no more than property.

If you will study the History of Civilization on this planet at a non-religious university you will learn that for thousands of years God was always considered to be a woman, aka. Goddess. About the time that Judaism got it's start God was changed into a man. Everyone was told to believe that god was a man. The real birth of religion violence. And now all religions are male dominant and some teach that women can be oppressed.

are we equals? Some women are equals, but not all. Go look at a dating site, one thing you'll notice is that a lot of girls want guys taller than themselves. Why is that? I say it because its in their nature to be dominated. Why does the man always have to ask the lady on a date? or the man always have to ask the lady to marry him? Why do a lot of women go after guys with money? It is what it is and its pretty obvious. Its a man's world and until women do something about it, its not going to change. In Buddhism man and woman are equals. There was womens liberation a few years back, now women are free to be sluts, but
its made things worse. Now marriage is a joke, no one needs to be loyal, because theres just more to choose from.

I think women sometimes take the issue too far. I am not denying the fact that there are sexists out there. Example: The Bible says "men" when referring to everyone. It is common English practice to use the word men for a group of people. I see the Bible being blamed sometimes when it should be the creators of the English language.

Nevertheless, there are plenty of religious schools for only women. Try an internet search.

I'm sure satan has one written for you.

Nowhere in the bible does it say that women are equal to men. Theres many places in the bible that says women are to have their heads veiled, with long hair for that is their Glory and they are to keep silent in church services.

However, the bible also clearly teaches what a mans RESPONSIBILITY is to his wife. In some ways she's held ABOVE him as far as sexual desires and stuff.

If you want equal rights for women? OK, then volunteer for the military, and lead from the front and not the rear. Show you can do it according to what MEN have to do- 40 pushups, 40 situps and a 2 mile run in 18 minutes and 40 seconds. Women only have to do 18 pushups, and 18 situps and are given 20 minutes and 40 seconds for a 2 mile run.

PROPERLY UNDERSTOOD, CHRISTIANITY.

Gal 3:28 There is no Jew or Greek. There is no slave or free person. There is no male or female. Because you belong to Christ Jesus, you are all one.

Many people do not understand and misrepresent the Bible. Those are false teachers. Gradually, people are learning to understand scripture better.

WOMEN provided a major portion of the support for Jesus and the disciples: Luke 8:1 After this, Jesus traveled around from one town and village to another. He announced the good news of God’s kingdom. The Twelve were with him. 2 So were some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses. One was Mary Magdalene. Seven demons had come out of her. 3 Another was Joanna, the wife of Cuza. He was the manager of Herod’s household. Susanna and many others were there also. These women were helping to support Jesus and the Twelve with their own money.

Someone said that the Bible says "men" when it is talking about everyone. That is a matter of poor translations and an evolving English language. Anthropos, the common Greek word for 'man' means: human being, person; humankind, people; man, husband; used of human beings in contrast to animals or deity; in some contexts it is used of male/husband in contrast to female/wife. “The Son of Man” is an OT phrase usually meaning “human being,” that in the NT is used almost exclusively as a messianic title (see Da 7:13), emphasizing Jesus' humanity. “The outer person” is the corporeal body in contrast to “the inner (or hidden) person” of the spirit... Clearly, it should be translated in an inclusive manner most of the time.

YES! When Jesus came, he revolutionized the way women were to be treated. He claimed men and women were regarded the same through the eyes of God. A totally foreign concept at the time.

So, I guess the answer is Christianity.

The Bible teaches men and women are equal, but does recognize that men and women have differences, and does give them different responsibilities.
As far as we know all the writters of the Bible were men.
