First, forget about yesterday---it is gone and there is nothing you can do to change it. Forgive yourself for whatever you have done in the past that has hurt anyone or yourself. Second, do not live in the fantasy world of the future---you have very little control over what happens tomorrow. Third, concern yourself with the matters of today---today is all that you can handle. If you concentrate on today, then you will have no time to worry over what you did yesterday and tomorrow will take care of itself. If you blunder today, do not get all upset over it----it is just one day in your life and one day does not determine the entire course of your life. If you do not know what to do today, that's okay----let Jesus make the decision for you, as he never misfires. Trust in God for everything because he know exactly what you need and when you need it. If you try to live life on your own terms, then you will always feel depressed. Live it on God's terms and you will know the peace of God. Jesus loves you.

I believe that we are what we think. Your mind is the creator of your life. Now if you wanted someone to write how they wished for a house and got a house, then someone else can write that. I'm talking about everyday living - where you could enjoy the house you wished for. What we think is the only thing we have some control over in this life, and controlling our own mind is hard enough!
We have a choice - think negative things and be miserable or think positive things and feel better. Which do you chose? I know we can't always stop those negative thoughts from popping into our minds, but we can decide on the valitity of the thought and then not dwell on the thought. Learn from your thoughts. Most of the time we don't even know what we're thinking. Try this experiment. Pick a "Guard the Gate" day. It goes like this. Pick a day when you will try to observe the thoughts going through your mind. You could wear something that will remind you to be aware, like a special ring or piece of clothing. As often as you can watch your thoughts - try not to judge too much - just observe your thoughts like they were ships sailing in the horizen. It works real good if you write your observations down in a journal. Try it. It will be an eye opener. If you find you are thinking negative thoughts most of the time - you can break yourself of this useless habit by telling yourself two good things about yourself everytime you think one negative thing. Your life will reflect this change in behavior where you will see a difference in what comes your way, in the tide, so to speak. Because you will change - it will influence how others react to you.

Yes I do. Everything starts in the mind. If you believe dat you cannot do something, its most likely dat you will fail or at least not do as good as you normally will. The mind is a very ppowerful thing. I dont understand y u would not like inspiring true stories though. Try too think possitively about things and your actions and body will follow. Good luck and stay blessed

The point is to view the world in terms of reality. This is neither positive nor negative, it is simply, what is. As one who is speaking as a bi-polar, it is important to not allow things to appear overly negative not overly positive.

Even so, there are usually multiple perspectives to view any event. For example, I had planned to deliver fliers in my neighborhood yesterday concerning the upcoming election. When I got up it was raining and it rained all day. Certainly this changed my plans for the day but rather than seeing it as negative, I looked at it as an opportunity to do other things in doors out of the rain. This may see as a small thing but life is actually made up of such small events. Controlling how you look at each small event makes over all perspective more positive and yet maintaining reality.

Look at things as walking down a path that is made up of a number of forks in the path. While both paths lead to the same destination, one leads down and is darker and the other leads up in light. Working to find and follow the path leading up at each fork becomes habit and things will normally look brighter.

Yes very much so. The mind-body connection is strong. I have a chronic illness but as long as I believe I am not so sick, then I am not. I lead an active life. Of course I require a little medical treatment from time to time but since I have something that is considered crippling and I am active, I'd say my mind is stronger than my body. I truly believe things are going to be fine. I have great great hope.

Paul noted that God revealed details about what happens after death to encourage and comfort us, to give us hope in times of personal loss, that we not "sorrow as others who have no hope" (1 Thessalonians 4:13). God's promise of eternal life is certain; we can safely trust in it as long as we are faithful to Him. Writing to a fellow minister, Paul spoke of his confidence in the "hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began" (Titus 1:2).
When a family member or friend dies, there is no denying the sense of loneliness and emptiness and the feeling of unfinished business—that we should have said or done more. Gaining a more—complete understanding of death and life can help us face our own mortality. We find courage, comfort and hope by viewing life in a larger context. We realize that, just as our present existence is temporary, so is death. A time is coming when we will reunite with those who have died and renew our relationships.
Although adjusting to the loss and loneliness caused by death takes time, we need to remember that even this most extreme experience does not separate us or our loved ones from God's plan or His love: "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, . . . nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).

In life it's always better to try & have a positive attitude about things. Lets face it when we are around people who are always down & depressed it bumbs everyone out. When I was very ill I always tried to be happy & positive about the outcome. It made everyone feel better instead of scaring them more. And thank the sweet Lord I'm doing much better. Have a good attitude about things, but always remember to go to the Lord in prayer with all your needs.

Yes,

I started a new course recently and felt out of my depth, and wanted to give up in order to cheat failure.
However then I decided it was a means to an end, and I talked myself out of failure and pressed ahead in a different frame of mind.
Then I get my first assessment back, (i get top of the class results). So its only the belief of positive power which makes us succeed!!!!

my mums the one who taught me about posistive thinking.. whenever i was ill or something i always used to say "ahh im so ill im never going to get better" and she used to tell me to say something more posistive like "i was ill, but im getting better now" and i actually did get better..

whatever you keep on saying to yourself is what you will eventually believe.. so therefore if you start saying posistive things.. inspite of your situation you can turn the situation to a posistive.. whenever i have a bad day at the end of it i try and think of all the posistives.. what i learnt from the day, what advantages came out if it e.t.c.

and remeber whatever you go through nothings permenant apart 4rm death so if your going through hard times just be positive that good times are coming up.. good luck with whatever method you choose :)

That is a false teaching to say that if you think positive nothing negative will happen to you. Positive thinking can only help you get through crisis but cannot avert crisis.
