Peace is commonly understood to mean the absence of hostilities. Other definitions include freedom from disputes, silence, harmonious relations, or inner contentment and serenity, as the meaning of the word changes with context.

Peace (used as an interjection) can also be a greeting or farewell, or a request for silence.

Peace may refer specifically to an agreement concluded to end a war, or to a lack of external warfare. It can also refer more generally to quietude, such as that common at night or in remote areas, allowing for sleep or meditation. Peace can be an emotion or internal state. And finally, peace can be any combination of these definitions.

You can never have peace with yourself because the flesh and the spirit are constantly waring for control. True peace is only with God. this is acquired by loving God and obeying him. When you allow Jesus into your heart the devil must flee. the devil will not stop trying to control you, but when you feel his presence all you have to do is meditate on Christ and the devil will leave. True peace will come in heaven in the next life. This life is an opportunity for spiritual growth and it is through spiritual growth that we discover the peace of God. If you want to experience the peace of God then put the things of the world behind you and let Christ take over your life. These days, during the holiday season, is an excellent time to start----get rid of all the worldly distracts that you are being bombarded with and the peace of God will come rushing in on you. Always remember that Jesus loves you.

I'm not into any religion I'm not saying there is no god.. I'm no genius but we got here somehow but i don't know who or why.. My idea of peace is inner peace if you're happy within yourself and with who you are you can tackle any obstacle life throws at you good or bad and still smile at the end of it knowing you gave it your best shot (life) that is..No two person is identical they may look alike sound alike or sometimes think alike but each person is individual and unique.. It's up to each one person individually to find there inner peace in which ever way makes them that individual who's content.. Some struggle to find that inner peace some never do but i bet a lot of people have found it in different ways...

this is a really good question!, and deep too!. Peace hmm? I think peace is different for each person. I have different levels of peace. I have peace when I'm with my family and I know they are all safe at that moment. I have peace when I leave the doctor and he tells me my brain tumor hasn't returned. I have peace when I have enough money to pay my bills. But the most peace I get is knowing that Jesus loves me and guides me through each day. I have peace knowing that when I die, I'll be with Him in Heaven, with my loved ones who have gone before me. Thank you for this question, it was very thought provoking, it made me really think of all the things I'm thankful for, which brings me peace.

linguistically peace is the state of no war or violence when things and people are calm and in harmony.

People who manage to maintain peaceful relationships with people around (society) are those who are at peace with themselves. And people are at peace with themselves when they are at peace with God. This is how the chain goes for me. Peace with God leads to inner peace that is manifested in peace with people.

To me, peace comes from being contented with what you have and accepting the fate Allah detines you to have. This is the everlasting peace that makes you accept yourself and people around you just the way they are.

my definition of peace: The struggle within the human soul is over. It has faced its mortality and flaws. It accepts that it needs redemption. It turns to God.

If everyone on the planet would come to that conclusion, we would all be so busy praising and thanking God for His mercy, there wouldn't be time to fight with each other.

Peace = the absence of conflict. You have to find your own path to it, because only you know the conflicts you face.
