60k take home is plenty if you are single. good luck buying a 200k house with that pay unless you put up a huge down payment (over 40k).

You should have plenty left for a 3 year old car (unless it's a luxury with low miles).

Vacations will be easy to do.

Retirement saving is possible.

Health insurance, if you get it through work, is possible.

For someone on their own with a 200K house.. and all the things you mentioned.. there are other things to take into consideration.

Lets see what kind of bills you have? There's phone, power, cable or satellite, food and personal items, water and sewage, then add the mortgage, car, insurance, retirement plan and your vacations. But there's so much more that you're not mentioning that you may or may not have to pay. Property taxes, car payment amount? car insurance amount? It's hard to say

Sit down with a piece of paper and write down every bill you have and all the money you spend.. add it all up
