The oldest living documented person was about 127 years I think but as of right now its not possible to live that long but with progression of new discoveries everyday i wouldn't be suprised if in the next few years people will start living that long. The human body according to scientist is capable of substaining life for over 1000 years but unfortunately the cells divide about 50 times in our life time.If they can find a way to slow cell division down then they can make us live for many years exceeding what we comprehend as normal lifetime.

If you study biblical and other even more ancient writings you will find many references to people who lived hundreds of years. If you study Gnostic literature you will learn that these were not just myths -- they were accurate reports.

Apparently we do not have an ageing gene. There is, therefore, no essential biolobical reason why we must age and die. Our body cells are completely renewed every 7 years. So, in theory, the body should be able to repair itself more or less indefinitely.

However because of: stress, poor nutrition, pollutants, etc. more and more of our cells -- including our DNA become damaged each year.

If we lived an excellent healthy lifestyle, in a pristine envirnement we would live a lot longer than the 70 or so years we do now.

But, hell, who would want to? I can't wait to get out of this place filled with: liars, thieves, money-grubbers, fear, ignorance, and alienation. You can have it as long as you want it, mate.

Although I believe the world record is 128 years old (with a secret involving raw onions, if I remember correctly!) I doubt that anyone will live to be 200 years old in our generation. Although, I would not completely dismiss the idea, as prosthetic parts keep appearing left and right. Who knows, you may live to be a 500-year-old cyborg!

No! The average life span is now decreasing because of a lot of factors. Younger people nowadays have diabetes, heart disease, cancer and a lot more diseases.
It is very rarely that people live beyond 100 years old. I had 2 grandfathers, 1 died at 101 and the other at 104 years old.

You can live more than 200 years only with those whom you love most and those who love you most...otherwise...sleeping with the enemy...no chance...

No, not under the present situation of pollution, processed foods, arms race/wars, accidents from man-made inventions, poverty, unemployment, poor spiritualism, low peace of mind, selfish leadership and parentage, poor health facilities, especially in developing countries, etc.
