I'm really sorry for your loss .. I know its a hard time. The last time I talked to my father was this Monday, on his way home. He came to collect my son's ashes, to take his grandson home.
Tons of hugs from Mel (http://www.youtube.com/ssgluceywife)

My father dosnt live near me but I call long distance when ever I can. I dont care about the phone bill I just need to hear his voice. I too have almost lost my father to 3 strokes and he had surgery and I was by his side. I wouldnt have it any other way. Sorry about your loss and cant imagine how you must feel.

Sorry for your loss.
I talked to mine yesterday.
The two days prior to that, I took his truck in for repairs for him, so I talked to him then too. I make a habit of going to see him at least three times a week. I just lost my mother in June so I'm probably driving my father nuts by being over there so often, not to mention I'm a little overly protective of him now.

Yes, losing your father is rough! My thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.
My mother died when I was a baby and my daddy raised me. He was my hero, my place of safety, and he never failed me. He died four years ago and I am so glad that I always stayed close to him. I never missed a chance to tell him how much I loved him. I think of him every day, many times a day.
To those of you who are lucky enough to have your father alive, please let go of ANY thing that might have put a wedge between you. Call him; see him; hug him; love him. Some day, you'll be so glad you did!

I am sorry for your loss. I try to talk to my father everyday. My father is 68 years old and is suffering with hardening of the arteries and Alzheimer's. He doesn't know his own grand kids but he knows me and my mom. He can't talk a whole lot but I let him know I am there and I love him. Life is too short for regrets.

I always dread that happening and yet of course it's inevitable.I do try to but my dad's a very quiet man and I find it hard.I know he loves me very much coz I went through a very tough period last year but I actually put my parents through a lot worse. He's very funny and sometimes I forget that. It's something I must learn how to get used to alright.

I talk (silently in my head) to him just about every day - He's been dead for over 10 years. I don't know if he hears me, but just talking helps me not miss him so much. Try it....
