Hi, In England and Wales first full certificate is £3.50. You get a free short one. Any replacement certificate after a few months is £7.00. Need full one for most things. Pays to get a couple of certificates when you register a birth.

when you first register the baby you are entitled to a short and full birth certificate for nothing. if you want a duplicate at a later date it will cost about 3.50 (was at begining of yr)

The hospital one is free the actual birth certificate in tx cost 11$ you can go request it and get it the same day but you need your I.D and I think ss cards as well

in scotland the first birth certificate is free. Im not sure of other places though.

the first birth certificate you get which is full length i believe was free (maybe we paid £2.50 for the folder you can get with it).For a replacement its about £17.00 i think.

Using the GRO website (if UK) then I paid £7 for a full one provided I could supply the reference numbers. If not you have to pay for them to search for it and that costs £11.
