Got an actual letter from the International Lotto Commission for a prize of 21 million Euro from Director De La Lotteria, Don. Juan Palma Gonzalez. Usually I get them from Nigeria or South Africa on email.

Please read very carefully.

The spainish lottery is a complete fake, a friend of mine was stiched up for some £18,000 pounds.

Ok how does it work, well first they tell you, you have won a share of what ever their jackport is usually anything from around the 300,000 to 800,000 euro mark.

The money is waiting for you in a specfied bank account, usually they do use a real spainsh bank name and address is verfiy their claim.

Next they will tell you to send some Id and your bank account details, so they can transfer the winning money.

This on its own is a very bad idea, once they have your ID and bank details, they can play merry hell with fake Id fraud..(In your name)

After a few days they will contact you back, saying that the spainish government has found out about your win, and want you to pay tax on it. They won't release the money intill this is paid.

Now you can't detucted this from what you have won, but you must pay up front. (Alarm bells)

So like a fool, you pay an amount from £2000 to £7000, knowing that this small change the huge amount you have waiting to be transfered.

So the money is paid, and then you are told they will be transfering the money in 3 working days etc.

You will then get a phone call on the day of the transfer to say, there has been a mistake, the money has been transfered to a bank in say, germany or belguim which is a favourite.

And guess what, the state government now what a slice of the action, they want tax on the money thats been accidently been transfered to say germany.

So know they will need another couple of grand to get the money out of that country to yours etc.

This can go on for a few months, stinging you for smaller amounts, logic says, i've paid £8,000 so another few hundred here or there won't matter.

The con will contuine intill they have realised they have push you far another, and then just disappear with your money, and you never hear another thing again.

So to re-cap, some important points:

1) its illegal for a non spainish or person who is not in spain, to purchase a ticket.
so if you buy tickets over here in the UK, they are not vaild and will not pay out.
2)Companies can't purchase tickets on your behalf neither.
3)The lottery is ran by the spainish government, so they are well aware who wins.
4)You have to go in person to make your claim, handing in id to confirm you have the right to the win, see 1 and 2
5)How can money be transfered to a non exsiting account in your name in another country?
6)Why does the money need to be transfered at all, surely you can work direct with the spanish bank
7)You do not pay tax on winnings in spain, as you would if you won in the UK

This is very clever con, one that makes these gangs a lot fo money, as for the mention of nigeria, funny enough its usually the nigeria gangs in spain that are doing it.

So my advice is either use the letter as toilet paper, as a fuse for the up and coming bonfire night or just put it in the bin where it belongs.

Ask yourself this-have you ever actually entered the Spanish Lottery? I suspect probably not. Ya hardly going to win something you haven't entered are you?! Plus, i'm guessing they're asking you to send off a fee to 'release your prize fund/cover admin charges' etc etc. Use some common sense-course it's a scam!
