Because of historically pagan influences that have been mingled with the traditional eve of Nov. 1, All Saints Day. A lot of Christian churches and other groups have all sorts of alternative activities on Oct. 31. Check out the first link below for ideas.

Because it's pagan. And when you live in a fantasy world like Christians do, they think they could really see demons and witches running about and on Halloween it confuses them.

"I think we ought to close Halloween down. Do you want your children to dress up as witches? The Druids used to dress up like this when they were doing human sacrifice... [Your children] are acting out Satanic rituals and participating in it, and don't even realize it."

The reason I don't like it is because I believe the devil is being glorified on that night. There is much devil worship and sacrifices being done on that night. I just don't take part in it. I will take my grandson to a Fall Festival at church so he can get candy and play games - so he does not miss out on candy and fun. But as far as participating like giving our candy, dressing up, decorating, etc - I don't participate in that. I just don't want the devil to get any glory - I want to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why I don't celebrate that day.
