michaelsa,From your point of view your are right, however the truth is in natural law of prosperity, prosperity is like muscle strength, use it or lose what you have. the rich exercise the opportunities they get.

Poki Poki, the poor lose their power when they do not use what little they do have. the power of thought is in everyone. one should accept responsibility for their own condition and begin to work out of it. Quit blaming others, correct your own shortcomings.

You won't hear this alot, but: they don't.

The rich get richer and the poor get richer, too; the total wealth on planet Earth continues to accumulate, and per capita wealth is increasing, too. The reason why people talk about the poor getting poorer is often because the discrepancy between the rich and the poor increases... but that's not the same as the poor getting poorer. It just means that the poor get richer more slowly than the rich do.

But, look at it this way: 1000 years ago, the poor in the richest of countries were poorly clothed, poorly housed, malnourished, disease ridden, lost multiple children at early ages and died early, themselves. They were illiterate and superstitious and almost never left the town of their births. Their diets were meager--a few staples with no variety--and medical care was virtually unknown.

Today, the poor in the richest countries are often housed, clothed, well-fed (indeed, suffering from obesity and complaining that "organic food" is too costly), educated, well-travelled, literate, career-oriented and possessed of incredible technologies that even Kings couldn't have dreamt of just a few centuries ago. They have medical care that the vast majority of people in the history of the world had no access to, whatsoever, governments sworn to protect their civil rights in exchange for minor taxations (as opposed to the serf/slave/indentured servant-life the poor once suffered), and live to ripe old ages.

This isn't only a phenomenon when we compare people today to those living centuries ago, but just in the last several decades. Compare the poor of today's America to those in the early 20th century. The poor of today often have access to televisions, dvd players, cell phones and computers--things that only the upper middle class or wealthy could purchase just a handful of years ago.

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting richer, too.

Because the most powerful control the money, banks, insurance, oil, weapons sales, etc. The rest of us must work for wages that will never get us out of poverty, so we have no power, no voice, no leverage - unless we revolt. When I was young, if you charged 11% on loaned money you would be arrested for usury, being a loan shark. Now the powerful banking elite can charge as much as 36% and nobody objects, because the powerful own the politicians too. It looks bleak for anything to change unless the poor realize we have vastly larger numbers and go take the power away from those that oppress us.

I would say most of the rich deserve to be rich & I'm not talking about pollies
I mean business people
because they work hard & always go without things in the beginning
a lot of so called poor people spend their money when they get it instead of saving or investing it
they buy the things they need or things that they just want....
& they just can never get themselves out of the rut
This is not about the real real poor!!!!

There must be opposition it all things, for there to be poor there must be rich, and vice versa.
There is some untruth is this statement because sometimes the rich loose everything and become poor and the poor having a change of opportunity becoming rich.

Because there is less emphasis on education - look at the levels of education world-wide in comparison to prosperity and you'll find your answer. Education is the single greatest equalizer of my time!
Government spending, if concentrated in this area, for just one generation, would elevate the poorer class to at the very least, the door-knockers of prosperity!

Why does God allow evil men to prosper? I am going to take back what the enemy stole in darkness to distribute evenly to the Kingdom of Light and those that can do the best with the good of it.

its all due to the Bell effect. where the poor increase, the rich increase and the middle class people decrease. when the rich get richer, the poor have to get poorer to balance it out...which i am not saying in a good way. I totally oppose this.
