You didn't say whether you were a boy or a girl.
If you are a girl, then your height is nothing to be worried about. I am 5ft tall.
If you are a boy, then try not to worry just yet, most boys have a growth spurt between the ages of 14 and 16. Your time may come. Playing sport will not help you grow. Your genetic makeup will determine how tall you are going to be.
If you are small for the rest of your life, don't despair. There are plenty of people who are smaller than you!

If your're really concerned, you can consult you doctor (with your parents, because you're a minor).. There may be hormonal interventions with growth hormones, depending on what your doc thinks is ethical/appropriate. Now, I've heard of docs doing this for small people with genetic basis, but not for normal people, such as yourself. You may experience a growth spurt in you junior year of high school (over the summer). Alot of guys grow ALOT over one summer!(I'm assuming you're a guy, but what ever you are, you are going to grow until 21ish for girl and 24 ish for guy). You're concerned because others are taller than you.. Well, everyone has a different biological time frame of develpment that slightly veers from the norm.
Embarrassing when you're going thru that, but everything doesn't revolve around physical appearances. You can try adding up to a couple of inches by wearing high-top sneakers and wearing a layer of comfort soles (like Dr. scholls). Try that, but not obviously... You can wear some heels too. Try to be creative for now and wait.... Eat healthy ( adequate protein in diet and carbohydrates) and stay lean. Staying lean is the best for growth! I was really not overweight growing up and so I am tall now for a female. There are myths also about engaging in sex too early.. try to avoid that. The raging sex hormones don't help height too much. Search on the internet about diet you can eat to maximize growth and don't forget to take your daily vitamins. Drink alot of water. avoid all fake drinks that have caffeine (sodas, crappy colored drinks, etc). I only drink water, coffee, or tea, or juice and that's healthier. But you should avoid caffeine because you're young, because caffeine doesn't help height.
I'll hope the best for your height. Best of luck!

Basketball really helps.
Another good way is to try full body stretches. Skipping is a GREAT way to grow tall, and it will be quite effective at your age. Skip for a full 10 minutes EVERYDAY. Trust me, it'll work. It did for me!
If you can install a steel bar (or get one installed) at home, where you can do pull ups, that could help as well, but the skipping is a win-win one.
GoodLuck!

Your height is determined by your genes, not by sports, food, how you sleep, exercise, etc. Its all genetics.
