'Yay' looks pretty stupid to me. I know that 'yea' is the opposite of 'nay' but if you write 'Yea! We won!' it looks like 'yeah'. Any suggestions? Or just go with the stupid-looking 'yay'?

Well, I guess that if you want to write yay, you will have to spell it yay; it's the only way to spell it. Or you could use a different word, like "bravo", "super", "great" or "woot woot". I guess you should just stick with YAY. It's quite descriptive.

Yay - meaning to a considerable degree, or to a certain extent "I knew him when he was yay high".

Maybe this word

Yah! - natural exclamation

I don't know if this was what you were looking for, but I hope that it helped

How Do You Spell Yay

Okay, this gets even more confusing, but here in the Ozarks we also say "since he was yea high," but spell it yea. Hmmm. Didn't catch where the other person mentioning this saying is from.

Yeah means yay as in hooray.

Yay is right.

Yea is just the lazy, text version of yeah, as you had said.

If all else fails, just go with "LOL! OMG THAT R SO COOL!"
