You must have had extensive experience and competency in each art you stated. there are many things similar in action between some arts, and you need to filter the concepts into a unified theory.
I would lose the TKD, nothing earth shattering there.
There are many hybrid martial arts, such as Kempo. and they do well at open tournaments. so your idea isnt stupid, but I think that it would take a few decades to perfect a complete system.
I say just do MMA (which is a stand up and grappling mix), and try some others on the side to se how you can utilise them for yourself. dont try to reinvent the wheel.
also, what do you want it for? self defense or point scoring? these are factors to consider.
Bruce Lee, though no hero, did have the answer to style: no style. we should all try a bit of this and a bit of that, to make our own personalised theories. for no one thing can be good for all people.

Hi there Yes it can be a good thing but it can also be a bad one. The key here lies in the practitioner and their experience. Kata when broken down and trained correctly teach certain principles. They were never created to be done parrot fashion or a large series of combos slung together. That's just our lack of knowledge when we train in them. Which brings me back to my first point about experience. If you feel you can create a Kata that teaches real fighting principles that are missing in your traditional forms then its worth giving some thought. But then again why not just teach the application? If on the other hand you want to do it to make up a new routine for people to practise then there's really no point. Kata were created to hide the secrets over the ages. That's one of the reasons for their existence. Today we have no reason to hide techniques form anybody? Generally the modern way of training kata has gone to pot and in most cases a waste of the practitioners time because their practising something without any explanation. Fighting has never been static, ridgid or perfect. Its a messy business. Extracting the principles from the forms and making them your own is what kata is really all about. Best wishes idai

MMA isn't a "style". Mixed Martial Arts is just that, just what you described, a mixture of different martial arts where the practitioner attempts to combine the techniques that are most advantageous to him personally.
These fighters in MMA have years of training in different martial arts styles in order to find the techniques that best work for them. You haven't said what your training and experience are, and while the arts you describe may be a good combination for you personally, they will not work for everyone. MMA has to work for each person, so the styles and techniques used by different fighters will be different.
Maybe you will find a name for your dojo, but don't try to call your MMA a "style". That's how we got American Karate.

first of all you need to have years worth of expierience in any of these arts second what you might percieve as good another martial artist will think is bad third mma is more of a money making type thing to get more customers by fooling them into believing they are going to learn all the styles mixd into 1 with all the "bad parts taken out" as for the name make sure it has "do" at the end ps plz dont ruin these arts to much. good luck bruce

SURE YOU'LL DO! all you need to do is to first discipline yourself, then workout all by yourself, try to solve all the problems when fighting (e.g. "How should i punch?", "what should i do when he'll do this?") and then find a student.
