It was a soda called Mr. Frosty. They don't make it anymore and I loved it. It was a mixture of cream soda and root beer. When we went to the little store to get it the lady at the counter knew what I was there for. We would also get peanuts from them. Now every time I eat peanuts or smell them I remember that I liked a soda called Mr. Frosty. I wish I was young again, LOL.

Lucozade

When I fell off a swing - aged 3 - I ended up in hospital. My first enduring memory of life - is Mother visiting me in hospital with a large bottle of Lucozade.

In those days Lucozade was only available in Chemist Shops - in large bottles and cost considerably more than other soft drinks. In our family we were only allowed it when we were sick.

Now it is available everywhere, in all sizes and many flavours and has become a popular everyday drink at a price that matches.

I can't decide if the modern situation is an improvement it tends to remove the Holy Grail status that I used to hold for it.

Carrot juice - drunk it by the gallon. Also used to like Dandelion & Burdock...funny about the latter - it tasted nice in the late sixties, but during the warm summer this year, bought half a dozen cans whilst cleaning out my attic, and it tasted vile. Is it summat to do with the chopping and changing of ingredients, on account of what it apparently can do to kids' consistency - physical and mental - nowadays, or maybe my taste buds have changed?

Two things... one was 7-Up. But I think the main reason was that my mother and I had a long running joke about it. I'd ask for one, and she would say "7-Up? Coming up!". Ok... it's not that amusing, but I was only 3 y/o at the time. Ha

The other was custard flavoured milkshakes. They used to be readily available in the city closest to where I live... but I ask about them everywhere now, and can't find them again. Wish I could though.

Ovaltine! It's a malted hot chocolate drink. You could drink it cold as well. It's yummy either way! You can buy it in any grocery store. Go for it!

Milk! I used to drink pints of it - the colder the better. I have never liked sweet fizzy stuff. Still I will have strong bones in my old age!

Definitely Coke with one dollop of Vanilla Icecream on top.

The fizzy sweet creamy loveliness of the combination was never bettered in my opinion. Although, of course, my adult tastebuds would never let me consume this drink, it's far too sweet!!
