If you still have the folder in tact that the program and it's components are in, you might want to try to reinstall it, and then try to uninstall. The manual way is to find all the registry keys that the program installed and delete them. If your comfortable editing the registry, use find and keep hitting to continue the search till it reaches the end. Search for the program name and any other files that it has in it's folder. There may be a few library files left (.dll's) but if they're not being called they don't effect anything. Also check the start up programs under system utilties for any reference to it.

You can remove the program manually. Navigate to the Program Files folder via. windows explorer, delete the folder.
Then Start->Run->Regedit
Press F3 for 'Find' and search the registry for the programs entries. As long as you are careful in the registry, nothing will get corrupted. Make a backup copy of your registry files before editing it as a precaution.

some programs can be uninstalled by simply deleting its Program Files folder and shortcuts.

but there are programs that specifically specializes uninstalling, the Norton Uninstaller for example.

another, you can also use McAfee Shredder to delete the files folder and shortcuts, then McAfee Clean Tool Lite to delete its registry.
