Should there be a little bit of pain when stretching?

Well I'm stretching my ears from a 12g to a 10g but for some reason this time it's hurting like hell. The size difference almost looks like it's a 8g. Anyways would it hurt or should it hurt jumping 2 sizes? Or even if I jump just 1 size should it be hurting? Or is it too soon if it stings like hell.

Jumping one size puts you at a high risk for infections and tearing your fistula (which the tube of flesh inside the hole that is being strectched)

NEVER EVER SKIP SIZES. If your ear still stings, you are going to ruin your earlobes. You are supposed to wait 6-8 weeks between stretches. After stretches you are suppose to soak your ears in sea salt soaks two or three times daily. If you're gonna gauge, do it correctly because once you rip the fistula, you're going to form scar tissue and be in a world of pain for all future stretches

Edit: Someone suggested electrical tape, and that is not a safe way to stretch. The glue and film from the tape can irritate and ruin your skin.

Smaller sizes hurt worse. How big are you planning on going ? I have 3/4 inch. in my ear. It's going to sting going from a 12 to 10, but shouldn't be too bad. You'll feel your ear pull. And 10g are weird, some tend to almost be the size of 8. Don't jump sizes. If it hurts that bad, I recommend taping them with electrical tape (since it's smoother), and layer the gauge until it can just squeeze into your ear, when it heals, put in the next size.

the sensation that you should get fromstretching should only be "pulling".it should always be before the point of pain.

ew dont stretch them at all.. major turn off and if you go to big it can easily rip and then you have 2 friggen lobes
