Whatever you want.

In New Zealand we shove the lime wedge down the neck of the Corona bottle.

Now I'm in Mexico, I've never yet been given lime with my Corona. I've asked for it a few times.
Basically, they think you're mad for killing your beer with lime.

Lime is best saved for all food & tequila.

Cheers!

Most people push the lime into the bottle...however, if most people jumped off a bridge into shark infested waters, would you?

The classy thing to do is to push it in just a little, so that the tip is sticking out. Then poor the beer into the glass, while it slips off the lime, getting just enough flavor from it.

Just push the lime into the neck of the bottle ensuring it remains "stuck" in the neck rather than falling through into the beer itself.

Nowadays there are lots of different answers to this question, most of which relate to flavour enhancement. However the original reasons behind this practise began in Mexico and it is quite simply done in order to stop flies getting into the beer bottle.

if you like the flavor, squeeze the juice from the lime into the beer. do not put the lime directly into the beer as it is often not washed.

when i bartended in mexico i learned this from the locals. we could easily spot the newbies by who put the lime directly into the beer. nobody who'd been there a while did that.

U push the lime into the bottle and than by covering the bottle with your tumb, slowly turn the bottle upside down and back to the normal position. This must be done as slow as possible. There u go, ready to drink.

I make mosaics from the lime slices. They make very pretty patterns. Sometimes the wardens let me keep them, other times, they lock my straightjacket and take my lime away. Then I get very sad.
