I have heard on the net that some parents in the UK make their children wear dress clothes or their school uniform after school and some even on weekends. I’ve heard things like "my parents make me wear my uniform until I go to bed" or "I have to wear my uniform on weekends too" Some have claimed being made to wear a tie, dress shoes and even a blazer all the time. Is this true or are these people just making it up.

Here is one of many polls on misterpoll.com where people claim this. Most of them claim to be un the UK. I think their a bunch of old men with some kind of fetish.

As my two girls (3&5) have 5 polo shirts and skirts/trousers each to wear at school i'm really not fussed whether they get changed or not as there will always be a clean one for the next day.
I buy their uniform from Asda or Sainsburys so can be quite reasonable (Asda one pound for a poloshirt!) and probably at this stage get more paint, glue etc on it at school anway. If I had to buy more expensive unform (my friends' children who go to a catholic school where they have to buy everything from John Lewis and a kilt alone costs 25 pounds!) I would have them get changed.
Basically it really depends on what's going on that day ie if they have dance classes or are going to a friends' house etc. I don't make them wear it and it is a comfortable uniform. I guess when they get older they may wish to change esp at senior school when they wear shirts and ties. All I know is that it really helps with keeping the wash bin from completely spilling over as at the weekends they do tend to have a habit of getting changed 2/3 times a day!!

Haha just looked at the website mentioned and it does look a bit like a fetish type one and is a bit pervy!!! Obviously someone wants to speak to people about wearing uniform-whatever rocks ya boat!!

my 5yr old niece falls asleep the moment she gets back home from school. The mum is unable to take her uniform off (and give her supper)until 5pm when she's finally awake. I believe this a scenario that may be occuring in some homes.I don't believe the parents make theses kids wear the clothes against their wishes. children wearing school uniforms at weekends sounds absurd.

the only cases kids had to wear their school uniform all day long is at a boarding school, which is true, believe me. We had to wear our uniforms for about 15 hours a day, weren't allowed to change even after completing homework, and while we got dressed up in uniform, tie on, collar button closed, belt tightened, we could only remove it at about 9 in the evening, after supper so most of my roommates just slept in them unless they had laundry, so in a way boarding school kids have to wear school uniform all day long.
We had saturday classes as well, so basically we were in uniform on saturdays as well, however on sunday we were free to wear whatever we want, until we wanted to roam around the boarding premises, seen in the premises without uniforms landed you detention.
So yeah, unless you lived in boarding you didn't have to wear your uniform all the goddamned time.

And this is a perfect example of people not minding their own business. Being so bored or unhappy with their own life that they have to be concerned with how other people live. It is none of your freaking business. Good grief people can not even put nice clothing on their children without being judged by their neighbors. Get a life!!!! you are out of line. the standard of attire has deteriorated and the moment someone exceeds the standard you complain. let me guess you probably call it child abuse. By the way i think i know a little more about yahoo.ANSWERS considering i have far more activity than you on here and furthermore if you do not like getting answers that disagree with you then do not ask the questions.

My son changes after school each day and usually into something he can wear to roll around in the mud or paint in so certainly not dress clothes - in fact, I have to go out and buy him something if we are going somewhere that has some sort of dress code (like the shirt I had to buy for a wedding coming up)

As soon as my son comes from school he is straight up to the bedroom before anything else and strips his uniform off. There maybe some cases were people were uniform all day long at boarding schools etc, minority... Boarding schools rarely exist.

I don't know about weekends or after school, but in the UK, Japan, China and many other countries, it is very common to wear uniforms to school.

My kids come home from school at about 4.30. They sometimes change, sometimes not. They do wear a clean uniform everyday. It's no big deal. By the time they've done their homework, eaten, done their jobs, etc it's time to bath and bed!
My older teenager changes every day because she has a pony to see to.

When the kids are young (in Junior school) I see kids in the uniform until about 9-10 at night, well bedtime. But never at weekends.

Personally when my kids get in they have to get changed streight away... 1 in Junior 1in Infents...

\i gues the parents cant be bothered with the washing.
