Disseminated Intravascular coagulation.. Basically, your blood does not clot due to organ failure or massive blood transfusions. This is seen in many people with end stage liver disease and severe sepsis.. It is not a pretty outcome..

Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is a pathological process in the body where the blood starts to coagulate throughout the whole body. The platelets and coagulation factors in the the body are depleted, and there is a paradoxically increased risk of hemorrhage
There are different causes for it where chemicals are released into the blood that instigates the coagulation. Sepsis ,obstetric complication like eclampsia, liver diseases, tissue trauma, transfusion reactions, cancers and leukemias, viral hemorrhagic fevers, and envenomation by some venomous snakes are amongst the known causes.
As the treament, that factor causing it should be treated first. Antigoagulants maybe given, platelets may be transfused, and fresh frozen plasma may be administered.♥
