I currently work for an airlines and the standards for us say that if you have a prescription with your name on it, IE the labels from the pharmacy Not handwritten) Effective Tuesday September 26th TSA is adjusting the Ban on liguids, Aerosols and gels Travelers may now carry through security checkpoints Travel size toiletries (3 ounces or less) that must fit comfortably in one, quarts size clear plastic zip top bag.

At the check point travelers will be asked to remove the zip top bag and place it in a bin for x raying separetyl will allow tsa security officers to more easily examine the declared items. Other medications may be checked in carry on bags up to 4 oz.

PS this was taken directly from our memo's for what we have to advise a passenger.
Hope this helps.

I haven't had a problem with carrying my insulin onboard, on both domestic and international flights. I haven't had problems with syringes either.

What helps is getting a note from your diabetic specialist that says you can carry on your insulin, syringes, blood sugar monitor, etc. Keep the original containers with your name on the prescription label.

I have the medipac thing and keep the collapsed insulin boxes in another pouch, just in case they want to see it. But I've never had a problem. Just do not check your insulin or anything of importance!

Hi there!!

Since your insulin is a medical need, the airport staff/security should allow you to have it with you in the cabin. They may stop you initially, but kindly ask to speak with someone who will be able to grant you access on the plane with your insulin. Hope this helps, and happy flying!! :)
