Can you catch the measles if you have had german measles before?

German Measles (Rubella) are a completely different virus then Measles. So yes, if not properly innoculated you can still catch measles (Rubeola).

Yes. German measles is Rubella and measles is Rubeola, caused by different viruses. If you are not sure if you had measles or measles vaccine, you can get an antibody titre (anti-measles IgG) done to see if you have immunitity to it.

I would think not if you already had the measles. Usually you can contract a disease if you were around them and never had them when you were a child. But you should ask your doctor just to make doubly sure. Everyone is different, no two people are the same. To put your mind at ease you really should ask your doctor this question.

three day type measles you can catch over and over and the two week variety you should be immune to but get a measles shot , it covers both kinds and saves a lot of illness.
