I used just proactive once and it didn't work - then I got it again and used it with a combination of other things and my skin has never been better.
Try this:
Proactive doesn't wash off makeup, so you need to use a scrubbing cleanser first to get off makeup/deadskin/oil, etc. I use Neutrogena's exfoliating scrub. Then use the Proactive cleanser, which will work better now because your pores are open & clean. After about 2 minutes, use a cotton swab and put on the Proactive toner (never skip this, I really think this is what does the most). After another 2 minutes, when that dries, put on Neutrogena's On The Spot acne treatment just on the actual acne. After that, use Proactive's Healing lotion - a thin layer over your face & back.
I know that's a lot - but I tried all sorts of combinations and this works! I know different things work for different people, and all these products add up to a lot of money, but it's worth it.
Good Luck!

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

There is a wonderful bar out called a PanOxyl bar. it is a 10% peroxide bar I believe. You can find it at any drugstore, and It is a great soap to use to wash your face with, because it is slightly exfoliating, and VERY cleansing. be warned though.. it comes at about 11.00 a bar, and it is drying if you have sensative skin.
I can only use it every other day. I alternate that bar and Biore blemish fighting ice cleanser, which has kept my skin clear for about a year now, but is also a bit pricey. It actually makes your skin feel like you have dunked your face in a bowl of ice... Its a wonderful product.. and not as drying as PanOxyl. Lastly I make sure to moisturize twice a day, always use a moisturizer that is either very light (aka cetaphil) or one that has an acne fighting ingredient in it. I use cetaphil because it is good with my sensative skin. I also use Tea Tree oil to spot treat, it will dry up a pimple in about 4 hours- but be sure to apply directly on the blemish with a Q tip, it can dry out unblemished skin very badly. It is a very powerful cleanser. You can use the panoxyl bar every day on your back, because it is not as sensative of skin, and use a toner of 3 drops tea tree oil diffused in 2 tablespoons witch hazel.. dip a cotton pad in this and rub it all over your back after cleansing.

I've never had your problem but I was just thinking do you think your diet could be part of the problem if you take in too much fats and oils could that be causing your skin to erupt? One very important thing is to drink drink drink water as much as yo ucan hold. It cleanses all your pores and inside you. That way you are sure you are doing the best you can to remove anything that is clogging up your system. Also what is your cleansing program? I'd try a very strict cleansing schedule plus change your eating habits. These health problems could come from within. Go to google or yahoo search also there are great helps at these two places on line. I never run out of reading material there. Best of luck!

I had back ance and hated it, now I keep in totally clear by doing the following..please keep up the practice, or it will come back.
1. Buy a quality long back brush of natural fiber!
2 Buy a benzoyl peroxide 10% scrub (either in a bar, or tube) and gently scrub back while in shower. Turn off water for a couple of minutes and let in sit there soaking in. It takes time for benzoyl peroxide to get in there. Rinse.
3. Buy a 10% benzoyl peroxide lotion or gel. Go to Target, or Wal-Mart and get the cheapest, since they are all the same. Clean and Clear is a good one. Make sure it is 10%. Put this all over your back. Do this night and day. Please note, bp can bleach fabrics.
If you are a diligent about this regimen you will no longer have back ance.
Also, please note, do not apply this same regimen to the face, since the skin on your back can handle these strong strenghts, while your face is too delicate. Please email me if you have any more questions. I am in the skin carre biz and live and breath clear skin. icesolutions@gmail.com.
Good luck!

Could it be "rosacea"? I cant see your bumps, but the t-zone and the chin are the main in which it would set. I think you might be a bit young for it,but you never know. Doctors so far are not sure what triggers it and how to calm it down, though there is a specific cream for it or a course of oxytetracycline. Google it.

This is a hard answer, you probably won't like it. But if nothing is working, meds, prescriptions etc..then the only thing left is to change your diet. Drastically.
Sometimes acne is an allergic reaction to dairy. Try eliminating it for one month.
Eat more raw foods, high fiber foods, food rich in zinc (shellfish, soybeas, whole grains, )
Avoid alcohol, butter, caffeine, chocolate, cocoa, cream, eggs, fat, fish, fried foods. hot and spicy foods, hydrogenated oils, margarine, meat, poultry, wheat, soda, sugar.
told you it was hard. but it worked for india.arie

Try Safeguard. Everybody has bacteria in their skin. Some people have more than others, and some people are more sensitive to it than others. When I was a teenager, I had the same problem. A Dr. told me to use Safeguard antibacterial soap (and nothing else) and it cleared up.
