The story goes like this... I met this girl while we're still in school in college. I admit I've got a crush on her but we didn't take it to the next level. There's just something about her that is not quite right. I couldn't fall for her. Couple of years after... we met. It just happens that I've been off from a very serious relationship with another girl. I'm mending a broken heart and she came. She acted as my confidante then to make the story short something happened between us. I told her it was a mistake and she agreed to. After a while we have no contact then 4 months after she called me. She told me she was pregnant with my child. I was really shocked. I even ask her why did it take her too long to tell me. She told me she was afraid. I told her I'm going to support the child and all. All throughout her pregnancy I haven't heard from her since she lived in another state. She change her number and her family's number. What do you think? What should I do?

thank you so much for the advices. I even called up her friends. No one knows. She knows my number but she hasn't called me. I even gave her my mom's number. Im just afraid this would interfere when I'll be married or go through another serious relationship in the future.

I admire your willingness to do the right thing. You sound like a really nice guy.

Regardless of how you and she feel about each other, you both have an obligation to your child. I can't imagine that a child wouldn't want to know that his father wanted to be his father. Track her down and talk to her about being part of your child's life. A new mother, especially a single mom, can always use help and support. And your child will benefit from knowing that he is loved by both his parents, even if they weren't in love with each other.

If you want to be a part of your child's life, you need to get an attorney and seek legal advice.

If she wants child support, she'll have to get in touch with you eventually. It will likely be through the court or the child support agency in one of your states. I don't know if they have to tell you where she and the baby are or not.

Since you were only together once, I'd really recommend getting a paternity test before you commit to paying child support.

I dont mean to be cruel here, but the first thing i would do if i was you is to make sure that this baby is yours. you should try to find her and take the test. If this baby is yours i would advise you to at least try to be part of the babies life. children deserve to have both parents there for them. If she wont let you see the child, you could either let it go or make sure that you get your rights. wish you luck.

Let things be until she finds you again. Maybe you really weren't the father. If she comes around, then demand a paternity test.

Don't send her any money until you get a paternity test.
