As lil grin mentioned, prosthetics are a good option if you want the feeling of having a 'whole' hand. Unfortanately, transplants of this nature aren't occurring in general populace. There was the face transplant in France, but they are experiencing many issues with that. To be honest, I know several folks with 'incomplete' hands, due to a variety of issues, and they go natural and do just fine. They say it's more comfortable than a prosthetic.

With the rapid success of realistic prosthetics, we are very lucky to have these artists to recreate lost limbs. There is this lady in Washington that does custom pieces. She truly is an artist. I am not sure where you are from but I am sure you can find someone near you that does an excellent job too. The great part is that your insurance will probably take care of the costs! These pieces last for a few years and can be attached by suction or adhesives. If your hand is severely disfigured, you can probably have a plastic surgeon "trim" it to make it less noticeable and then you can go and and get fitted for your prosthetic. I'm pretty sure you wont even have to go thru all of that because these folks who work with prosthetics would probably know what to do.

Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for!

why do you want a full hand? my dad lost his ring finger years ago, and he jokes by putting the stub up his nose, it looks like his whole finger is up there! but like right now, im only useing 3 fingers on each hanf to type, as long as you can write, then dont worry about it...im sure your being your own worst critique .otherwise, you can always check into a prostesis..( fake hand) that would be very expensive. or look at it this way, you can collect disabilty!! get up to $1000 a month and great medical coverage...
