sure is. cats, the domestic cat is the perfect killing machine. of all animals, it is the only one who kills for the pleasure of killing. they are made to hunt and kill.

Hell yes it's normal, even though to us it may seem disgusting! Our cats are inside cats and at least once a day my fiance or I will accidentally let in a fly or a moth. And the cats will stalk and chase it until they "catch it". They jump around like crazy stalking the poor things. I've got one cat who will just bat it around 4 a while and then it the other little girl gets a hold of it, she will eat it, no holes barred!!! That ends the fun pretty quick.
But if you look at the big cats in the jungle, they act the same with their pray. They crouch down, ready for the pounce until it is in their sights. Same as our domestic moggies. It's just the good old "Circle of Life"

Oh yeah, cats are hunters and they will hunt anything. I thank goodness that my cats hunt and kill all bugs in my house because I am a chicken when it come sto creepy crawly things! My older cat even chased and killed a small lizard that entered my house one day! My younger cat will "play" with her food if she cannot hunt. She wil take her dry food, push it around the tils floor so it rolles, the "kill" it ( she pounces on it) and eats it. Cats just love the thrill of the hunt!

Perfectly normal! Cats nature is to hunt, doesn't matter what it is. They hunt it and play with it until it dies then sometimes they will eat it, all or part, and other times once it dies they lose interest. During the summer my cats spent a lot of time in my garage with me and the kids (game room) and you wouldn't believe the amount of crickets parts I had to clean up. lol

Perfectly normal and healthy. My cat plays with every bug he finds. We used to get a lot of silverfish in the bathroom of our old apartment, and he'd bat 'em around for a while before eating them. He once played with a cricket until its legs were busted. He tried eating it, but I guess he didn't like the taste because he spit it right back out. When the stupid thing stopped moving, he lost interest and walked away.....leaving me to clean it up....ew.

yes thats completely normal. my cat does the same thing, its just their hunting skills... they like to play with their food before eating it. i have no idea how many times i've seen my cats eat crickets and grasshoppers. gross but true. shes brought mice and birds into the house too... i had to take them all outside.... alive, some dead. mostly at 4 in the morning! oy vey. that was the end of letting my cat out at night. but believe me, its completely normal.

Cats love the thrill of the chase! They'll catch it, play with it, let it go, catch it again, etc. Perfectly normal.

It's normal. Cats like to play with things that move (mice, balls of yarn, bugs, etc.) They also like to eat things they kill (mice, bugs, moles, birds, etc.)
I would be more worried iff your cat didn't play with and eat bugs.
