ok this started a few months ago i got some bumps in my pubic region afteri shaved but not on my shaft. at first i thought they were just shaveing bumps and ingrown hair so i stoped shaving for awhile then i shaved and it was actually worse. now i try to keep it trim but it's hard cause of all the lil bumps, i end up cutting them. but ya it keeps getting worse. i think it still could be just ingrown hair but it's getting out of control. i don't think it could be any kind of std cause i hadn't had sex for a good while be fore they showed up. but ya does anyone know what it is and how they heck i can get rid of it. it's terrible.

It's definitely shaving bumps and in-grown hairs. You don't have to worry about STDs if you're not sexual active right now.

As a health care provider for the military... I suggest you go see a doctor... any information given to you here, while helpful, will not be as good as a true health care provider can give. For one, a doctor will know and can look up your conditions and most importantly can run several tests. A problem in your pelvic area is very important to get taken care of. While most men do not talk about this, I congratulate you for stepping up. My best suggestion and answer is that you see a health care professional immediately... the problem could turn up as you said "just ingrown hair" but if it is not and is something else... then to be safe you should seek help immediately.

I'm not a doctor... just a Corpsman.

Registered Nurse here, Please make an appointment with your physician ASAP, if not able, then go to the nearest emergency room. I don't mean right this minute, but seek treatment within the next 24 to 48 hours. You could have a staph infection that is spreading topically, eventually one of the bumps will manifest itself as an abscess. At any rate you need some medication for this problem, could be you need antibiotic therapy and topical steroid cream, and topical antibiotic cream. Don't play around with this. Please go and see a physician, before it gets any worse. Thanks for the opportunity to answer your question.

Don't shave for a while, until the razor bumps are gone. Try using a depilitory especially formulated for the public/bikini area.

first off you need to go see a dermatologist, second to be honest it sounds like you have HPV or genital warts, I was a counselor for years for the county of Los Angeles I did HIV and STD counseling, with a lot of STDs you do not see signs if any til later. and that can be up to a year later. Its viral a lot like herpes. DO NOT CUT THEM!!! YOU WILL ONLY SPRED THEM MORE! You need to see a doctor asap or the free clinic. However it was very brave of you to ask this and be so honest, realize that its not a big deal if treated correctly and to be honest people contract much worse things everyday. DONT BE HARD ON YOURSELF! Good Luck

Even though you you "hadn't had sex for a good while" does not mean it can not be an std. Some STDS stay dormant in your body until stress can trigger them. Please do go get checked.

If you are serious then it could be something called folliculitis. Either way, go see a doctor immediately.
