Obviously evil is measured and defined by a standard that human's create. Evil is set buy current societal standards and vary culture to culture. What was considered "evil" 400 years ago might not be "evil" today. What a right wing Muslim considers "evil" might not be seen as "evil" by a left wing Democrat.
Evil as in the existence of Satan? Well...if you believe in God, than you must believe in the existence of hell. The two cannot exist without the other. They are a counterbalance.
Ying and Yang. What is that? The belief that for light to exist, there must also be shadow and darkness.
To believe that one can be good, one must also believe that one can be bad.
Ancient Greek philosophers and Buddha have all argued the duality of our existence as good AND evil. We are both. Only in overcoming evil, can we be good.
If you believe that evil is only a part of our imagination, than you must believe that goodness is only part of our imagination. ....I think good and evil is a very "human" concept/construct as in that we "consciously" perform acts of evil with the intent to hurt and for no other reason except to see another human suffer, or even to perform an act of good will for no other reason except to feel gratification for doing something good. When we do things for reasons other than those necessitated for survial, we are doing things that make us "uniquely" human in the Animal Kingdom.

I believe you mean: "What percentage believe in the devil?" After the Holocaust it is hard to disbelieve in the fact of evil in the world without if no religion existed and all was materialism..

Evil, by definition of absolutely wrong, way off the path and horrid, can be believed by 100% of the population, ie. serial killers, child rapists. Evil in the spiritual form is pretty much a religious abstract theory. Who knows the number on that one.

I believe that the driving human emotion is fear. Fear inspired religion, wars, taboos, and a whole lot of problems. Evil is also a product of fear, by my logic. So no, I do not believe in "evil" as a force on its own. Of course, I cannot speak for everyone.

Ying and Yang- if you believe in good you must believe in evil. Too many in our society believe that evil is a part of their imagination-and that is why most of them are incarcerated and the rest of them are in office!

there is true evil out there. it rarely acts directly on people but uses influence, the little voice in the ear, like in the movie Constintine. when it comes it really does feel like a bad breeze. "tis an ill wind that blows no good" really has meaning

i think "evil" is repressed animal instinct. we humans may imagine ourselves to be civilized and domesticated but those predator/scavenger instincts still manifest in our behavior patterns.
threat = evil.
that which is prey fears the predator. the predator is "evil". we humans prey on our own species. we fear ourselves. and with good reason. we are the only predatory species that kills for entertainment ... except for overfed cats.
