The best definition I have ever seen for love is found in the Holy Bible -- John 15:13 and 1 Corinthians 13 (the whole chapter).
I challenge you to read them and find a better one...

No one can describe love to you, it is different for every person. For some it might be caring deeply about another, for others it might be feeling safe and warm every time you are with that person. It might be a combination of those or a completely different thing. Love is very harder to mistake for a crush, so be careful. After your first big crush, you should be able to tell the difference between love and a crush. Just remember one thing, never assume how others feel about you. It will only hurt you in the end if you are wrong. Ur first crush might hurt for a while if not returned, but not to worry, in about 2 weeks you will be fine, and thinking in a completely new way. I am speaking from experience here.

love to me is when you cant wait to see the person after a long day and even if it was a bad one they brighten that terrible day and when you need some one to talk to they are the first you wanna run to and love is a feeling inside that if it ever ended just thinking about not having them near is just painful and when another aproaches you that you have no desire to stray and you tell that aproacher that you are happy because you would never wanna hurt your love nothing I mean nothing could come in between the two of you that is what love is to me

It's so difficult to explain wat is love. Infact all the beautiful things in this world are beyond definition. You can jst go on and on bt never find the right way to define it.

There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......
(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.
