In my deist opinion....if we believe that a Higher Power created everyone equally and with freewill, then I suppose we could use our free will to start our own religion.
It seems that maybe religion and deism don't mix. That's why I like my freewill.
If there is a religion that uses deism as it's motto...I'd be interested to learn about it. (????)

Religion is not a fashion statement. It's specific beliefs. No category of belief fits with any belief, with one exception. A deist would fit with a Universalist. Universalists believe that any religion is good, better to be religious than not religious. The Masons also may have similar beliefs. But most religions exclude other religions. Obviously some religions are not exclusive, but they still would't fit in.
But I would like to say that deism is false. I believe most deists believe that God created the world, but doesn't interact in man.
I personally believe that if God bothered to create the world, he obviously would want to interact, and would have the power, the time, and the caring to interact. Not only that, but God would still have the same power that he had when he created the world and would use it to this day, and would do great things today.
With that thought, I believe that God has spoken to man since the beginning of time, anad that has been recorded in The Bible.
All the other religions seem incomplete, or man made.
There is a great contrast between a loving God who would sacrifice himself on a cross on Earth and a God that would just create the world, and let the chips fall where they may, because he's too busy creating other worlds, or doing whatever he does.
So I don't think deism fits in at all with Biblical views, or any scripture based religions.

Deism and Atheism are incompatible. A deist believes that there is (or was) a deity, an atheist does not. However, it might be possible that some people who thought that there was only the alternative between an abrahamitic religion and atheism discovered deism as an additional alternative and found it suited them, like you obviously did. But that means that you are no (more) atheist, you are a deist then.

Unitarianism is fine, but I prefer Yoism - view the website!! What a treat!! Sit down, shut up and hang on and prepare to be enlightened!! You may cry, laugh, cringe, gasp, all of the above, but you will definitely find plenty to ponder. This not a site for your average stick-in-the-mud non-questioning Christian.

Try the Unitarian Universalists. Even if they disagree with certain principles, they'll still be accepting and respectful.

Deism means God has left us to make our own destiny. Religion would not apply.
