Paddy rice has a husk on it that is removed to form "brown rice."

Brown rice consists of the bran, germ, and endosperm.

White rice is refined further, and the bran and germ are ground off, leaving the white endosperm.

Brown rice is much healthier for you than white rice. There are many colors of rice other than brown and white. The issue is really whether or not the grain contains the bran and the germ, in addition to the endosperm - in this case it is typically called "brown" even though it may be a different color.

Rice pilaf refers to a method of cooking the rice rather than a type of grain . . .

Yellow rice is colored by Tumeric or Saffron. If you bought it in a box, it was Tumeric (Saffron is very costly and not likely to be used in a boxed rice mix) Tumeric or Saffron can be used to color both white and brown rice although the yellow color is more profound on white rice. Brown rice is the same as white rice except it still has the bran and germ attached. This means that brown rice is healthier. The bran provides fiber and the germ contains nutrients. Polished white rice has little nutritional value. Always eat brown rice when given the choice.

You can think of white rice as rice that has been stripped of its "shell". Brown rice still has its "shell" and the nutrients that come with it.
Rice pilaf is just long grain rice that has been cooked with Chicken Stock and other ingredients.
