Many people--not just Roman Catholic priests--practice celibacy for a wide variety of reasons. But it's not for everyone, and I personally don't feel that it should be mandatory.

It is true that priests practice celibacy, but have you noticed that after all these years of practice, there are many that haven't accomplished it? Celibacy is an archaic practice and should be abolished.

I don't think that it's Biblical for anyone in ministry to be celibate unless its by choice.I mean Celibacy is not for everyone.Even Christ Jesus has a bride,the Church. I know that Apostle Paul was of the opinion that having a wife made life harder so, I think that's where they get the idea that priests have to be celibate.But it was simply Paul's opinion not God's design.

This is just another man made rule by the Roman Catholic Church. It is not biblical.And is a very serious problem with these guys abusing whomever they can.
This is just another example of following man's tradition rather than what is in the bible.

Yes, no where in the bible does it state that Priests should be "without" a wife, a family etc....

it takes commitment and the will to do Gods work to be celibate, wisdom 3:3......talks about the riches of virginity when we reach heaven. I'm going to be a nun. I think it will be wonderful, but of course it will be hard for many things...I'll pray for you :o)
