You can't force him to. All kids develop at their own pace. Some kids walk by the age of 1, other kids take a lot longer. He's not abnormal or delayed if he doesn't walk yet!

Is he standing already? At first he'll stand holding onto things. Then he'll try to stand without the help of objects. Finally, he'll start taking his first steps. If he's at this stage, you could make it into a game and sit back a little and call him, so he'll have to take a few more steps towards you. It's ok if he falls quite a bit at first!

If he doesn't learn in two weeks, don't worry. That way at least his mom can witness his first step!

ok, this is how i made my son walk. Use one day to practice him standing on the spot on his own. He needs to have the proper balance first. Practice this for a day. Then put him in the middle of a room with no furniture around, make sure there are some pillows behind him in case he falls. When he is standing, show him a toy he really likes. Wave it at eye contact close to him so he can take 1 step. Slowly move it further and further after, again, making him stand alone in the centre of the room. This should prompt him to take more steps. Keep this up and after a few days, he should get the hang of it. Then he can get the confidence to do it on his own, once he discovers he can take those few steps. I taught my son to walk at 11 months old.

My daughter is 15 months and not walking yet; however she was a preemie as has been developmentally behind on just about all stages thus far. Some kids you just can't rush as it delays the process even more due to the fact that they get frustrated. Your nephew will walk all in good time!

He's not going to walk because you want him to, he'll walk when he's ready. But try standing him up against the wall, he'll have a hard time trying to sit down and may decide to walk forward. Hope this helps.

Well if you have a magic wand you can wave it over his head and do an walking incantation...you can't MAKE him walk. He will walk in his own time, babies develop at their own pace not according to a clock or a calendar or any measurement of time.
