My 9 month old shih tzu has thrown up about 15 times just tonight. First it was normal with what looked like food in it, then orangeish, now clear and foamy...
I don't know what to do to help him?

Hey, I'm a Vet Tech, and off the top of my head it could be:
Some sort of obstruction. Swallowed objects can get stuck. This is an emergency, and potentially fatal.
An infection. Are there any other symptoms? Thirst, lethargy, diarrhea, peeing alot.
Sometimes dogs intestines turn over or "telescope" into itself. Both these are life threatening and will kill your dog in an hour.
Poisioning, with those little dogs, a little kills.
Basically, you need a vet. NOW!!
Its better to be safe than sorry. Especially with a young, small dogs.
Good Luck
BTW the color change is just his system empting itself out. Clear and foamy means the little guy has an empty tummy now.

I have a shih tzu and had the same thing happen to him. He was throwing up like a human would throw up when they had the flu. I took him to the vet and they hooked him up to an IV to give him fluids and did an x-ray or something to see if there was an obstruction (like if he swallowed something). It turned out he had an infection in his stomach. They put him on antibiotics and I had to cook him bland food (like boiled chicken and white rice) and gradually let him eat. Definitely take him to the vet, its so important since we cannot tell what exactly is going on. He will feel so much better afterwards. Good luck!

You need to take his food and water away first of all. If you can take him to a vet that would be a good idea. If not wait until morning and get him into the vet immediatley. Keep him calm and comfortable tonight. Do not give him any food in the morning, you can try a little bit of water to see if he holds it down. If he does then you can give him more water through the day, only if he holds it down though. Do not feed him tomorrow. You can feed him the next day only if he holds down water tomorrow. If he keeps throwing up get him to the vet they can get dehydrated very quickly

You need to take him to a vet now. With that much throwing up, he can become dehydrated very quickly. See if you can get some pedialite (in the baby isle at the grocery store) down him. If you can't find that Gatorade will also work. If he get dehydrated, you will have to leave him at the vet. He could possible die from dehydration.
Good luck.

He most probibly gets way too excited before and after his food time. That way causes him to throw up. There is also the thought of the type of food/treats etc. that you are feeding him. Also the amount. I would try a new dry food brand.

That is not normal...your dog sounds like it needs to go to the vet. I'm sure he now has no food left in his stomach and that is why it is now just bile he is vomiting. Take him to the vet before he becomes dehydrated and gets even sicker.

If you can mix some apple cider vinegar (HEINZ) with honey and get it down her it will help about 1 teaspoon with about 1 or more tablespoon of honey and maybe some dog food mixed in or something........sounds like you should call the Vet though they are usually on call 24/7 good luck

Get him to the vet ASAP. Parvo is going around everywhere now and it is deadly. In the meantime try to give him water because he is dehydrated at this point, you may need a dropper. He may likely not take it. again GET HIM TO THE VET ASAP. At this point your dog is VERY sick and may die.
