Are you afraid of snakes?
Do you read magazines often?
Do you hear or see things that are not there?
Crazy stuff like that. It can show a variety of different disorders. It can also show if someone is lying or trying to manipulate the results.
Tell him he will be fine. The results should be kept between him and his doctor and used to help him find the best treatment. It is better than wasting time on treatments that may not be effective.

Your friend doesn't need to be nervous. The questions are things like:
Answer Yes or No
1. I think I am more handsome than most men.
2. Everytime I move I have pain.
So the questions aren't tough!!
The scoring shows what type of personality one has. We all have tendancies. Yes this test shows if you have a severe personality disorder, but mainly it will tell you if a person has a personality that tends to be anxious, or hysterical etc.
It is interesting but as a test on its own it doesn't say too much.

I can't give you any examples of the questions, due to copyright and reliability/validity issues. However, tell your friend not to be afraid. Any information he obtains from the test, although it may be painful to hear, can only help him, right?
Also tell him to be honest. The MMPI is designed to identify people who may be lying or responding defensively. If he does not respond honestly, he may invalidate the test.
Its a long test, but hardly painful.

Psychological ones. There is no standard question set. It depends and what the testers are trying to find out. Questions to determine if you may possibly be a thief would be different than ones that determine if you love children.
