Pretty much all of the three religions are exactly the same up to Abraham. Islam and Christianity are exactly the same until Jesus, except for the whole divinity thing. Islam is the only religion that believes in the Prophet Muhammad.
Otherwise, the differences are exaggerated and have mainly developed over time because of culture rather than any essential religious differences. The core beliefs in the omnipotence of God and His message, and in the existence of heaven and hell are essentially the same.
Ad for information on the Abbasid caliphate, you'll have to consult a history book about that. I unfortunately don't know much about Islamic history after the death of the Prophet and the four Great Caliphates.

As far are similarities are concerned, others have better answered, this question, the three religions are from same only one & true God.
Regarding the Abbasids, as far as I believe, they revolted against Umayyads with the help of persians, their underground movements were mostly based in cities Iraq & Iran like Kufa, etc, hence, it was logical that they move the Capital to thier stronghold.

muslims belive that what moses, jesus and muhammad (pbuh) borught were given to them from same god. and god gave them the same thing or teachings. but previous religions were changed by the people
