What country are you from and what kind of trouble are you in? There may be other countries that are options for you also. Ireland's economy is supposed to be booming. Also germany seemed pretty nice while I was stationed over there. If none of these options are open for you then check with the american embassy. It may be tough all depending on if the country you are trying to leave is an ally of ours. Politics usualy bring bad press on matters like this. What ever you do, do it legaly. If you fear death it would be a hole lot easier to try to go to another european country and then see their embasy or an american embasy. Just don't try to do anything illegaly because once you do alot of people and countries won't help you.

The easiest way is through marriage. Find someone through the internet or something.
