Why is Internet explorer 7 so slow to load onto my computer. I cleared my cache, cleaned the disk drive. Not sure what to do. I never had this problem with the previous version.

I noticed the same problem with both 1 and 2 beta test. When I download the final version of IE7 the same problem still existed.

How I resolved the problem was to turn of the "phishing check for rogue websites.

If you look at your bottom tray, look at the tray just above your bottom tray when you are in IE7. You will see a squared white box with a round yellow ball that has a black "!". Right click with your mouse on that square box an it will open. Turn off, the "phishing", control as that is part of added new security that IE7 has installed.

If you use safe computer networking, there is no need for this control, as it slows down the loading of not only IE7, but every webpage you visit. (It will check the webpage to verify that it is not a rouge webpage. (The only thing I see of value in this security measure is for people who do on-line banking.

Now that I have turned off, "phishing", IE7 an all other web pages load faster.

I have a a desk top and a laptop. Both are a bit older than a year old, both have XP Professional. Explorer 7 works fine on them. But some people older systems using XP have reported problems with the new version. If you would like to try a browser with very similar features as Explorer 7 Try Firefox.

I read that IE7 is having some problems. I would just use IE6.0
