First of all I wouldn't switch doctors. Your family doctor knows your medical history best and would be best able to prescribe the best medication. What if it's not that your deppressed, but have some other medical issue? Also don't be embarrassed about this, it takes courage to go see a doctor about this. Your doctor sees many, many people with depression and won't think you are a freak. He or she will only want to help you. It may be that you will only be on the medication a short time, or maybe you will need to be on it for the rest of your life. There are many different medications for deppression, and they all don't work for everyone. I have three members of my family who suffer from deppression, and all three take different medications. It makes the difference betwee night and day. Deppression is a medical symptom. It is not something that you can just pull yourself out of. I think the best way to talk to your doctor is just that. Schedule an appointment, tell him or her your symptoms, and let the doctor help you. You'll be able to tell the difference within a month.

Has anyone ever considered that it may help u take the edge off and natural stuff doesnt work. Everyone doesnt have an addictive personality. And in moderation its relaxing and u are the customer, not him. And if u really want to get them u will get them whether he writes for them or not.

I'm on benzos and I am *not* telling you. They are a dangerous class of drugs. Stay away from them.

Why would you need to ask this to get the drugs if you really needed them? Come on, now...

Your doctor will be able to tell if you need them. You really don't need to "tell" him anything.
